How does a vCard QR code work
A vCard contains company and professional contact information and is designed for mobile phone address lists, unlike a Mecard which is for persoanl use and can contains a limited amount of information.
The generated QR code can be scanned by a mobile phone with a camera and barcode scanning software. If you phone does not have any barcode scanning application, see the list of free downloadable QR code applications
A vCard makes it redundant to retype the contact information from a business card into your contact address list. Just scan the code and confirm you want the information added to the contact list, it is as simple as that.
Important: Many QR code reader applications on mobile devices claim the ability to be able to read, correctly interpret and correctly populate the address list on the mobile device. We at QR4 have found that many of these applications do not work properly at all. QR4 generates vCard QR codes according to RFC 2425 and RFC 2426 documentation standards. So if the vCard does not load properly on your mobile device, don't call us, try another QR code reader application.
